The Signature 12 is Nolah's premium all-foam bed and the company's own pick for pressure relief. The comfort layer is AirFoam, Nolah's proprietary alternative to memory foam: it contours like visco-elastic foam but is perforated and formulated without the heat-trapping density that makes traditional memory foam sleep warm, and it recovers faster so it does not feel like sinking into wet sand. Under it sits Tri-Zone foam, which is softer at the shoulders and firmer through the lumbar region, plus a gel swirl layer and a copper-infused AirFoam layer for additional cooling. The result reads about a 4 out of 10 — plush-medium — which is why side sleepers do so well on it and why stomach sleepers should not buy it. Motion isolation is near the top of our chart. Queen list is $1,799 but the standing 35% promotion puts it at $1,169, and Nolah offers an optional GlacioTex cooling pillow top for +$195 that adds an inch of quilted foam and a cool-to-the-touch cover. Two honest limits: edge support is the weakest part of any all-foam build, and at a 4 firmness heavier sleepers will find their hips dropping — the Evolution 15 is the right Nolah for them.

Back Sleepers
The Nolah Signature 12 may be too soft for back sleepers, particularly those over 180 lbs. Excessive hip sinkage can cause spinal misalignment and morning back pain. Lighter back sleepers (under 150 lbs) may still find adequate support.
Stomach Sleepers
At 4/10 firmness, the Nolah Signature 12 may be too soft for stomach sleepers. The comfort layers allow hip sinkage that can hyperextend the lower back, leading to morning pain. Stomach sleepers should consider a firmer option (7+ on our scale).
Combination Sleepers
The Nolah Signature 12's memory foam alternative construction contours to each sleep position but may resist quick position changes. Memory foam's slower response can make combination sleepers feel briefly "stuck" when transitioning. If you change positions frequently, consider a hybrid alternative.

Traditional memory foam gets its contour from density and from a viscoelastic response that is deliberately slow. Those same properties are why it holds heat and why it feels like it takes a moment to let you move. AirFoam is Nolah's attempt to keep the first property and drop the other two.
It contours closely at the shoulder and hip, which is what side sleepers need, but it is perforated for airflow and formulated to recover faster. In practice the surface feels cushioned rather than enveloping, and you do not get the stuck-in-the-bed sensation that makes some sleepers reject memory foam outright.
It is still an all-foam mattress, so it runs warmer than the Natural 11 or any coil bed. The copper-infused AirFoam layer and gel swirl layer beneath the comfort surface help move heat downward, and the optional GlacioTex cover attacks it at the surface — but if overheating is your single biggest complaint, a latex hybrid is the better answer.
Tri-Zone is the reason side sleepers score this so highly
A uniform foam layer forces a compromise: soft enough for the shoulder means too soft under the hips, and firm enough for the hips means shoulder pressure. Tri-Zone splits the difference by varying foam firmness along the length of the mattress — softer at the shoulders, firmer through the lumbar third, medium at the legs.
For a side sleeper that means the shoulder can drop into the surface far enough to keep the spine straight while the waist and hips stay supported. It is the same principle as a zoned coil unit, executed in foam.
Because it is zoned, the mattress is directional — rotate it head to foot only if Nolah's care instructions call for it, and never flip it. The zoning only works in one orientation.
The weight ceiling nobody mentions at checkout
At a 4 out of 10 the Signature is a plush mattress, and plush all-foam beds have a practical weight limit. Above roughly 230 lb the hips compress far enough that the spine falls out of alignment, and no amount of break-in time changes that.
Nolah's own support team routes heavier buyers to the Evolution 15, which uses a coil support core and comes in three firmness options. That is the correct advice, and it is worth acting on before you order rather than after 60 nights of a sore lower back.
The same caution applies to stomach sleepers at any weight. Stomach sleeping needs a firm surface to stop the pelvis from sagging, and the Signature is the wrong shape of mattress for it.
