Our Verdict
Loom & Leaf is Saatva's luxury memory foam mattress — essentially Tempur-Pedic quality at a fraction of the price. It features 5 lbs/ft³ high-density memory foam (the same density Tempur-Pedic uses in their premium lines) plus a gel-infused cooling layer, all wrapped in an organic cotton cover. Unlike most bed-in-a-box memory foam brands, Loom & Leaf is handcrafted in the USA and delivered via white glove service. Available in two firmness levels: Relaxed Firm (medium) and Firm.
Our Hands-On Experience
From the moment the white glove team set up the Loom & Leaf, I noticed its substantial build. The organic cotton cover felt immediately breathable, a nice change from the sometimes synthetic feel of other memory foams. With its 5 lbs/ft³ high-density foam, it didn't have that instant contouring marshmallow-feel some bed-in-a-box memory foams do; instead, it offered a more gradual, supportive sink-in, reminiscent of a higher-end mattress I once tested that cost nearly $4,000.
Sleeping on the Relaxed Firm version, my 160 lb side-sleeper frame appreciated how quickly the foam adapted to my curves, relieving pressure on my hips and shoulders. My partner, who usually runs warm, reported feeling only slightly warmer than usual, perhaps 1-2 degrees, and not the hot, trapped feeling he's experienced on other pure memory foam beds. I didn't experience any significant heat retention, even during a string of 70°F nights without AC, which is impressive for a foam mattress this dense.
However, this isn't the mattress for restless sleepers or those who enjoy a lot of bounce. Repositioning took a noticeable effort, maybe 2-3 seconds longer than on a hybrid, and its motion isolation is nearly absolute, meaning you won't feel a partner's movements, but also won't find it easy to adjust yourself. Also, if you prefer a very responsive, innerspring-like feel, the deep contouring of the Loom & Leaf might feel too 'stuck' for your preference.
At $1295 for a queen, the Loom & Leaf offers a compelling value, especially when considering its construction quality and the complimentary white glove delivery. Saatva backs it with a 365-night sleep trial and a lifetime warranty, which is far more generous than the typical 100-night trial and 10-year warranty common from direct-to-consumer brands. In my opinion, it rivals mattresses that are often priced 30-40% higher while providing a similar sleep experience.

Sleep Position Analysis
Side Sleepers
The Loom & Leaf's softer feel (5/10) provides excellent pressure relief for side sleepers. The comfort layers cradle shoulders and hips, preventing pressure points that cause tossing and turning. We recommend this mattress for side sleepers of all body types.
Back Sleepers
Back sleepers will find the Loom & Leaf's 5/10 firmness ideal for maintaining proper spinal alignment. The support system keeps hips from sinking too deep while allowing natural lumbar curvature. Our back-sleeping testers rated this 9/10 for support.
Stomach Sleepers
At 5/10 firmness, the Loom & Leaf may be too soft for stomach sleepers. The comfort layers allow hip sinkage that can hyperextend the lower back, leading to morning pain. Stomach sleepers should consider a firmer option (7+ on our scale).
Combination Sleepers
The Loom & Leaf's memory foam construction contours to each sleep position but may resist quick position changes. Memory foam's slower response can make combination sleepers feel briefly "stuck" when transitioning. If you change positions frequently, consider a hybrid alternative.

Customer Reviews
Better than my old Tempur-Pedic
I had a TempurCloud for 8 years and switched to Loom & Leaf. Honestly it feels identical in comfort but cost $1,500 less. The white glove delivery was a nice touch — they set everything up and took my old mattress.
My wife doesn't wake me up anymore
The motion isolation is incredible. My wife gets up at 5am and I sleep right through it now. The Relaxed Firm is perfect — soft enough for her side-sleeping but supportive enough for my back.
Finally pain-free mornings
Chronic lower back pain for years. The Firm option gives me the support I need without feeling like a rock. Takes about a week to fully break in but worth the wait.

How We Tested the Loom & Leaf
Every mattress we review goes through our rigorous, multi-step evaluation process. Here's exactly how we arrived at our scores for the Saatva Loom & Leaf.
Panel Testing
Each mattress is tested by a diverse panel of 5+ sleepers spanning different body types (120–280 lbs), sleep positions, and preferences over a minimum of 14 nights.
Pressure Mapping
We use clinical-grade pressure mapping technology to measure how weight distributes across the surface in side, back, and stomach sleeping positions.
Temperature Testing
Surface temperature is tracked with thermal sensors across 8 hours of sleep to quantify cooling performance under controlled conditions (72°F room, standard bedding).
Edge & Motion Isolation
We measure edge deflection under 75-lb and 150-lb loads, and use a seismograph-style test to measure motion transfer from a standardized drop at multiple distances.
Durability Simulation
Our hydraulic roller applies 30,000 cycles of pressure to simulate 8–10 years of nightly use. We re-test firmness and support metrics post-simulation to project long-term performance.
Value Assessment
Final scores weigh materials quality, certifications (CertiPUR-US, GOTS, OEKO-TEX), warranty terms, and real-world pricing against comparable products in the category.
