    Our Verdict

The Natural 11 is Nolah's organic latex hybrid and the best-value bed in that category we track. The build is straightforward and clean: an organic cotton cover, two layers of GOLS-certified natural latex, and a zoned pocketed coil core, with no memory foam and no polyfoam comfort layers anywhere in the stack. Latex over zoned coils is the coolest-running construction in mattress design — the latex is open-celled and the coil unit leaves a large open air cavity underneath — and it is also the most durable, which is why Nolah is comfortable putting a limited lifetime warranty on it. Firmness reads about a 6, medium-firm, with the responsive push-back that defines latex rather than the slow sink of foam. What makes it stand out is the price. Queen list is $2,099, but Nolah runs a near-permanent 35% promotion that puts it at $1,364, which is several hundred dollars under Birch, roughly $300 under My Green's Natural Escape, and less than half a Zenhaven. The trade-offs are the ones latex always brings: average motion isolation, a bouncy feel some sleepers dislike, and not enough surface give for very light side sleepers.

    Lab measurements: in the queue

The Nolah Natural 11 has been slept on and scored by our testers, but it has not yet gone through the full instrumented protocol — pressure mapping, thermal imaging, motion transfer and edge-deflection loading. Rather than publish estimated numbers, we leave this table empty until the measurements exist.

    What We Love

    • GOLS-certified organic latex and an organic cotton cover with no polyfoam or memory foam in the build
    • $1,364 queen on the standing promotion — the cheapest genuinely organic latex hybrid we recommend
    • Zoned pocketed coil core reinforces the lumbar region and improves edge support over a foam-cored latex bed
    • Latex over coils is the coolest-sleeping construction available, with nothing to trap heat
    • Limited lifetime warranty rather than the usual 10 or 20 years
    • 120-night trial with free returns in the contiguous US

    What Could Be Better

    • Medium-firm only — no soft or firm version of this model
    • Latex bounce transmits more motion than a foam bed; not the pick for very light sleepers with restless partners
    • Lighter side sleepers under about 140 lb may want a topper for shoulder relief
    • 120 nights is shorter than the 365-night trials at Saatva and My Green
    • Heavy to rotate, and Nolah recommends rotating it periodically
    • List pricing is largely theoretical given the perpetual promotion

    Best For

    • Buyers who want certified organic latex without a $2,000-plus budget
    • Hot sleepers looking for the coolest possible construction
    • Back sleepers and combination sleepers who want responsive medium-firm support
    • Anyone replacing a sagging foam bed who wants something that will not develop body impressions
    • Allergy-conscious shoppers avoiding polyurethane and memory foam

    Not Ideal For

    • Lightweight side sleepers who need a plush shoulder pocket
    • Memory foam fans who want a slow, enveloping contour
    • Couples where one partner wakes at any movement
    • Buyers who want to pick a firmness at checkout

Individually wrapped coils zoned across the surface — softer at the shoulders, firmer through the lumbar third — with a reinforced perimeter for edge support

    Sleep Position Analysis

    Side Sleepers

At 6/10 firmness, the Nolah Natural 11 works well for average-weight side sleepers (130-230 lbs). Lighter side sleepers may want to consider a softer option for better shoulder cushioning, while heavier side sleepers will appreciate the balanced support.

    Back Sleepers

Back sleepers will find the Nolah Natural 11's 6/10 firmness ideal for maintaining proper spinal alignment. The support system keeps hips from sinking too deep while allowing natural lumbar curvature. Our back-sleeping testers rated this 9/10 for support.

    Stomach Sleepers

Stomach sleepers need a firmer surface to prevent hip sinkage and lower back strain. At 6/10, the Nolah Natural 11 provides the flat, supportive surface stomach sleepers need. Our testers confirmed minimal hip depression during prone sleeping.

    Combination Sleepers

The Nolah Natural 11's latex hybrid construction provides responsive support that adapts as you change positions throughout the night. The coil system provides bounce that makes repositioning effortless. Combination sleepers rated this highly in our testing.

What GOLS certification covers, and what it does not

GOLS — the Global Organic Latex Standard — certifies the latex itself: that it is at least 95% organic raw material and that the processing meets defined environmental and social criteria. Nolah's Natural carries it, which puts the mattress in a small group alongside Avocado, Birch, and My Green Mattress.

What GOLS does not cover is the rest of the mattress. The cover here is organic cotton and the build contains no memory foam or polyfoam comfort layers, which is the important part — plenty of 'natural' mattresses put a thin latex layer over a polyfoam core and market the latex.

If full-stack organic certification across cotton, wool, and latex is your requirement, My Green's Natural Escape carries GOTS as well as GOLS. If your priority is latex over coils with no foam in the comfort layers at the lowest price, the Natural 11 is the strongest option we track.

Why latex over zoned coils is the coolest construction there is

Heat builds up in a mattress when a dense, closed material sits sealed against your body. Memory foam is the worst offender because its density is exactly what produces the contour. Latex is the opposite: it is naturally open-celled, and the manufacturing process leaves pinholes through the slab.

Underneath, a pocketed coil unit is mostly empty space. Air moves laterally through it every time you shift your weight, which pulls warm air out of the comfort layers and replaces it. There is no equivalent airflow in an all-foam bed regardless of how much gel is infused into it.

The combination is why we rate this construction above every 'cooling' hybrid using foam comfort layers. If you have failed on two or three beds marketed on cooling, this is the direction to go.

Firmness, and who should look elsewhere

The Natural 11 reads about a 6 — medium-firm — and Nolah does not offer alternative firmnesses of this model. That suits back sleepers, stomach sleepers, and most combination sleepers well.

Side sleepers under about 140 lb are the group most likely to be disappointed. Latex pushes back rather than conforming, and at low body weight you may not compress it enough to relieve shoulder pressure. A 2-inch latex topper fixes it for around $200, but it is worth factoring into the price comparison.

Sleepers who specifically want a plush all-foam feel should look at the Signature 12 instead, and couples wanting adjustable firmness should look at the Evolution 15. Within the Nolah range the Natural is the durability and cooling pick, not the plushness pick.

Organic latex at a price that made sense

We priced Birch at $1,873 and Avocado over $2,000. Got this at $1,364 in the sale with the same GOLS latex. Ten months in, zero sag, sleeps cold.

Lifetime warranty on a $1,400 bed

That was the tiebreaker. Latex lasts and Nolah clearly knows it. Back sleeper, medium-firm is spot on for me.

    Bouncier than I expected

It is latex, so it pushes back. My partner rolling over does register. Still kept it — the cooling and the support are excellent and the price is hard to argue with.

How We Tested the Nolah Natural 11

Every mattress we review goes through our rigorous, multi-step evaluation process. Here's exactly how we arrived at our scores for the Nolah Nolah Natural 11.

    Panel Testing

Each mattress is tested by a diverse panel of 5+ sleepers spanning different body types (120–280 lbs), sleep positions, and preferences over a minimum of 14 nights.

    Pressure Mapping

We use clinical-grade pressure mapping technology to measure how weight distributes across the surface in side, back, and stomach sleeping positions.

    Temperature Testing

Surface temperature is tracked with thermal sensors across 8 hours of sleep to quantify cooling performance under controlled conditions (72°F room, standard bedding).

    Edge & Motion Isolation

We measure edge deflection under 75-lb and 150-lb loads, and use a seismograph-style test to measure motion transfer from a standardized drop at multiple distances.

    Durability Simulation

Our hydraulic roller applies 30,000 cycles of pressure to simulate 8–10 years of nightly use. We re-test firmness and support metrics post-simulation to project long-term performance.

    Value Assessment

Final scores weigh materials quality, certifications (CertiPUR-US, GOTS, OEKO-TEX), warranty terms, and real-world pricing against comparable products in the category.
