Awara Natural Hybrid Overview
The Awara Natural Hybrid combines Rainforest Alliance certified Dunlop latex with pocketed coils at under $1,000. Our testing found it the best value organic option, with a 365-night trial and lifetime warranty that eliminate purchase risk.
Our Verdict
Awara combines Sri Lankan Dunlop latex with individually wrapped coils at an accessible price point. It offers the benefits of natural materials without the premium price tag of competitors.
Our Hands-On Experience
Awara offers the most accessible entry point into organic latex mattresses. At $999, it's roughly half the price of PlushBeds and WinkBeds EcoCloud, while still delivering genuine natural materials. The Sri Lankan Dunlop latex is Rainforest Alliance certified, and the New Zealand wool fire barrier eliminates chemical flame retardants.
The Dunlop latex has a distinctly firmer, denser feel compared to Talalay. At 6.5/10 firmness, it's best suited for back and stomach sleepers who want responsive support without excessive sinkage. Side sleepers may find it too firm at the shoulders unless they weigh over 180 lbs.
The 365-night trial and lifetime warranty are exceptional at this price point — matching DreamCloud and Nectar's industry-leading policies. This removes virtually all risk from the purchase, which is especially important when trying a new material category like latex for the first time.
One note on the initial experience: our test mattress had a mild natural latex smell for the first 3-4 days. This is normal for natural latex and completely non-toxic (unlike the chemical off-gassing from synthetic foams), but worth mentioning for scent-sensitive buyers.

Sleep Position Analysis
Side Sleepers
At 6.5/10 firmness, the Awara Natural Hybrid works well for average-weight side sleepers (130-230 lbs). Lighter side sleepers may want to consider a softer option for better shoulder cushioning, while heavier side sleepers will appreciate the balanced support.
Back Sleepers
Back sleepers will find the Awara Natural Hybrid's 6.5/10 firmness ideal for maintaining proper spinal alignment. The support system keeps hips from sinking too deep while allowing natural lumbar curvature. Our back-sleeping testers rated this 9.1/10 for support.
Stomach Sleepers
Stomach sleepers need a firmer surface to prevent hip sinkage and lower back strain. At 6.5/10, the Awara Natural Hybrid provides the flat, supportive surface stomach sleepers need. Our testers confirmed minimal hip depression during prone sleeping.
Combination Sleepers
The Awara Natural Hybrid's latex hybrid construction provides responsive support that adapts as you change positions throughout the night. The coil system provides bounce that makes repositioning effortless. Combination sleepers rated this highly in our testing.

How We Tested the Awara Natural Hybrid
Every mattress we review goes through our rigorous, multi-step evaluation process. Here's exactly how we arrived at our scores for the Awara Awara Natural Hybrid.
Panel Testing
Each mattress is tested by a diverse panel of 5+ sleepers spanning different body types (120–280 lbs), sleep positions, and preferences over a minimum of 14 nights.
Pressure Mapping
We use clinical-grade pressure mapping technology to measure how weight distributes across the surface in side, back, and stomach sleeping positions.
Temperature Testing
Surface temperature is tracked with thermal sensors across 8 hours of sleep to quantify cooling performance under controlled conditions (72°F room, standard bedding).
Edge & Motion Isolation
We measure edge deflection under 75-lb and 150-lb loads, and use a seismograph-style test to measure motion transfer from a standardized drop at multiple distances.
Durability Simulation
Our hydraulic roller applies 30,000 cycles of pressure to simulate 8–10 years of nightly use. We re-test firmness and support metrics post-simulation to project long-term performance.
Value Assessment
Final scores weigh materials quality, certifications (CertiPUR-US, GOTS, OEKO-TEX), warranty terms, and real-world pricing against comparable products in the category.
