Our Verdict
FLOWT is King Koil's newest flagship and the most interesting thing the brand has built in years. Instead of a conventional pocketed coil unit, FLOWT uses a spiral support system that flexes independently under each part of the body while leaving open channels for air to move sideways through the bed. Paired with cooling gel in the comfort layers, it was the coolest-sleeping King Koil we tested — closer to a latex hybrid than a memory foam bed in how quickly it sheds heat. The feel is a true medium with a responsive, springy rebound rather than a slow hug.
Ratings Breakdown
How we score (1–10 rubric) →Lab measurements: in the queue
The King Koil FLOWT has been slept on and scored by our testers, but it has not yet gone through the full instrumented protocol — pressure mapping, thermal imaging, motion transfer and edge-deflection loading. Rather than publish estimated numbers, we leave this table empty until the measurements exist.

Sleep Position Analysis
Side Sleepers
At 6/10 firmness, the King Koil FLOWT works well for average-weight side sleepers (130-230 lbs). Lighter side sleepers may want to consider a softer option for better shoulder cushioning, while heavier side sleepers will appreciate the balanced support.
Back Sleepers
Back sleepers will find the King Koil FLOWT's 6/10 firmness ideal for maintaining proper spinal alignment. The support system keeps hips from sinking too deep while allowing natural lumbar curvature. Our back-sleeping testers rated this 8.9/10 for support.
Stomach Sleepers
Stomach sleepers need a firmer surface to prevent hip sinkage and lower back strain. At 6/10, the King Koil FLOWT provides the flat, supportive surface stomach sleepers need. Our testers confirmed minimal hip depression during prone sleeping.
Combination Sleepers
The King Koil FLOWT's luxury hybrid construction provides responsive support that adapts as you change positions throughout the night. The coil system provides bounce that makes repositioning effortless. Combination sleepers rated this highly in our testing.

Read the full King Koil FLOWT vs. DreamCloud Premier comparison →What the spiral system actually does
Conventional pocketed coils are wrapped in fabric, which is good for motion isolation and bad for airflow — each coil sits in its own sealed sleeve. FLOWT replaces that with a spiral support element that compresses along its axis while leaving the space around it open, so warm air can move sideways out of the bed instead of pooling under the sleeper.
In practice this shows up two ways. The surface returns to neutral temperature faster after you move, and the bed feels more responsive than a comparable pocketed-coil hybrid — there is less of the damped, cushioned sensation and more spring. If you are coming off memory foam, expect an adjustment period of a week or two.
Where FLOWT sits against the rest of King Koil
FLOWT is the cooling pick, PureBliss is the value pick, Xtended Life is the durability pick, and Reserve Luxury is the plush pick. If you are shopping the brand rather than this specific bed, that four-way split covers most decisions.
The one caveat with King Koil generally: because it is a licensed brand, model availability and even construction can vary by region and dealer. Confirm the spec sheet on the floor model matches the collection you researched before you sign.
Trial, warranty, and buying notes
King Koil beds are sold primarily through retail partners, so the trial period and return policy come from the retailer, not the manufacturer. 120 nights is common but not universal — ask, and get it in writing, because a comfort exchange fee of 10–15% is standard.
The warranty is 10 years non-prorated against manufacturing defects, with the usual sagging threshold of 1.5 inches measured with no weight on the bed. Keep the law tag and use a proper foundation or the claim will be denied.

Finally a bed that doesn't trap heat
We came off a memory foam bed that slept like a radiator. FLOWT is night and day — I can put my hand on the surface at 3am and it's neutral. Feels bouncy in a good way.
Great bed, expensive
No complaints about how it sleeps. Medium feel that works for both of us and edges hold up when I sit to put shoes on. Just wish it were a thousand dollars cheaper.
Best for combination sleepers
I flip between side and back all night and this one lets me move without fighting the mattress. Shoulder pressure is fine on my side.

How We Tested the King Koil FLOWT
Every mattress we review goes through our rigorous, multi-step evaluation process. Here's exactly how we arrived at our scores for the King Koil King Koil FLOWT.
Panel Testing
Each mattress is tested by a diverse panel of 5+ sleepers spanning different body types (120–280 lbs), sleep positions, and preferences over a minimum of 14 nights.
Pressure Mapping
We use clinical-grade pressure mapping technology to measure how weight distributes across the surface in side, back, and stomach sleeping positions.
Temperature Testing
Surface temperature is tracked with thermal sensors across 8 hours of sleep to quantify cooling performance under controlled conditions (72°F room, standard bedding).
Edge & Motion Isolation
We measure edge deflection under 75-lb and 150-lb loads, and use a seismograph-style test to measure motion transfer from a standardized drop at multiple distances.
Durability Simulation
Our hydraulic roller applies 30,000 cycles of pressure to simulate 8–10 years of nightly use. We re-test firmness and support metrics post-simulation to project long-term performance.
Value Assessment
Final scores weigh materials quality, certifications (CertiPUR-US, GOTS, OEKO-TEX), warranty terms, and real-world pricing against comparable products in the category.
