Our Verdict
The RejuvenatePremier changes the grid strategy rather than simply making it taller. Instead of one 3-inch column structure, it stacks two 2-inch grid layers of different densities, so compression happens progressively: the top grid gives quickly and softly, and the second one catches you before you reach the coils. The practical result is a medium-soft surface — we read it about a 4.5 — that still refuses to let the hips drop, which is a combination memory foam cannot produce. Purple recommends it for back, side and combination sleepers and describes the feel as reducing pressure buildup, and that is accurate: it is the most cushioned of the collection short of the Ultimate while remaining supportive under the lumbar. Everything else is Rejuvenate-standard — a quilted DreamLayer top, a zoned pocketed coil core, a 15.5-inch profile, a 100-night trial and a 10-year warranty. Queen list is $7,699, with a standing sale at $6,370. At that number the honest framing is that you are buying a specific feel, not better sleep quality per dollar; the RestorePlus and the RejuvenatePlus both deliver a lot of this for thousands less.
Ratings Breakdown
How we score (1–10 rubric) →Lab measurements: in the queue
The Purple RejuvenatePremier has been slept on and scored by our testers, but it has not yet gone through the full instrumented protocol — pressure mapping, thermal imaging, motion transfer and edge-deflection loading. Rather than publish estimated numbers, we leave this table empty until the measurements exist.
Firmness Level
Medium-Soft (4.5/10)
What We Love
- Layered 2" + 2" grid produces progressive give — soft at first contact, supportive as you sink
- Medium-soft 4.5/10 feel that still holds the lumbar, which soft foam beds cannot manage
- Excellent for sleepers with shoulder, hip or joint pain who need cushioning without losing alignment
- Same open-lattice cooling as the rest of the Purple range
- Works well across back, side and combination sleeping
- FSA/HSA eligible with 0% APR financing and a lowest-price guarantee
What Could Be Better
- $6,370 on sale for a queen — the value score is the weakest part of this review
- Only a 10-year warranty and a 100-night trial at a near-$7,000 price
- Too soft for stomach sleepers and for many sleepers over 250 lb
- The RejuvenatePlus covers most of the same ground for roughly $1,060 less
- Very heavy — 15.5 inches of grid, coils and foam
- Deep-pocket sheets are essentially mandatory
Best For
- Side sleepers who want plush cushioning without losing lumbar support
- Sleepers with arthritis, bursitis or chronic joint pain
- Back and combination sleepers who find medium-firm beds unforgiving
- Hot sleepers who want a soft surface that does not trap heat
- Buyers who have already decided on the grid and want the plushest supportive version
Not Ideal For
- Stomach sleepers
- Heavier sleepers who need a firmer platform
- Value-focused buyers
- Anyone wanting a lifetime warranty at this spend

Sleep Position Analysis
Side Sleepers
The Purple RejuvenatePremier's softer feel (4.5/10) provides excellent pressure relief for side sleepers. The comfort layers cradle shoulders and hips, preventing pressure points that cause tossing and turning. We recommend this mattress for side sleepers of all body types.
Back Sleepers
The Purple RejuvenatePremier may be too soft for back sleepers, particularly those over 180 lbs. Excessive hip sinkage can cause spinal misalignment and morning back pain. Lighter back sleepers (under 150 lbs) may still find adequate support.
Stomach Sleepers
At 4.5/10 firmness, the Purple RejuvenatePremier may be too soft for stomach sleepers. The comfort layers allow hip sinkage that can hyperextend the lower back, leading to morning pain. Stomach sleepers should consider a firmer option (7+ on our scale).
Combination Sleepers
The Purple RejuvenatePremier's hybrid construction provides responsive support that adapts as you change positions throughout the night. The coil system provides bounce that makes repositioning effortless. Combination sleepers rated this highly in our testing.
Which Purple RejuvenatePremier Model Should You Buy?
Purple's Rejuvenate collection is the luxury tier above the Restore line. Every model shares the same DreamLayer quilted top, zoned pocketed coil core, 100-night trial and 10-year warranty — the only variables that change the sleeping experience are how much GelFlex Grid sits under the quilt and how it is layered.

Read the full Purple RejuvenatePremier vs. Saatva Classic comparison →Why the GelFlex Grid behaves differently from foam
Foam compresses proportionally — press twice as hard and it sinks roughly twice as far, everywhere. The GelFlex Grid does not. It is a hyper-elastic polymer moulded into column walls, and those walls hold their shape under broadly distributed load but buckle sideways the moment pressure at one point crosses a threshold.
In practice your lower back, a wide contact area, is held up firmly, while your shoulder and hip, which concentrate load into small areas, sink through as though the material were far softer. No foam or latex bed reproduces that split, and it is the entire reason to consider a Purple.
The same structure explains the temperature. The lattice is open in both directions, air moves through it freely, and nothing solid seals against your skin. In our thermal testing it is the coolest sleep surface of any construction, and the DreamLayer quilt on the Rejuvenate models is deliberately quilted rather than sealed so it does not undo that.
How layered grid produces progressive give
The Premier's defining feature is that it does not simply make the grid taller. It stacks two 2-inch grid layers of different densities, so the compression curve changes as you sink rather than staying linear.
The upper layer buckles almost immediately, which is why the surface reads medium-soft at about 4.5 out of 10 and why the first impression is cushioned rather than springy. The denser layer underneath resists more, catching the load before you reach the transition foam and coils.
The practical benefit is that you get soft-mattress pressure relief without soft-mattress alignment problems. A plush memory foam bed relieves the shoulder by letting everything sink, including the hips. The layered grid relieves the shoulder while the second layer keeps the pelvis where it should be, which is why sleepers with arthritis and bursitis rate this model so highly.
What the DreamLayer top actually changes
The single most common reason Purple mattresses come back inside the trial window is not support or heat — it is the first-night feel. The bare grid is an unfamiliar sensation, slightly springy and slightly hollow under the shoulder, and buyers coming off a plush foam bed often decide within an hour that they hate it.
The DreamLayer quilted panel that defines the Rejuvenate collection is Purple's answer to that. It puts a cushioned, conventional-feeling surface between you and the polymer, so the bed reads as soft on contact and only then hands you over to the grid.
That is a real improvement in comfort and it is also the honest explanation of the price gap: you are largely paying for a quilted top, extra height and, on the upper models, more grid. Whether that is worth double a Restore is a personal call, but it should be made with eyes open.
The adjustment period is real — plan for it
Nearly every long-term Purple owner describes the same arc: strange for the first three to five nights, unremarkable by week two, preferred by week three. Purple asks you to sleep on the mattress at least 30 nights before starting a return for exactly this reason.
The 100-night trial gives room for that, but it is short next to the 365-night trials at Saatva, Nectar and Puffy — and it is unusually short for mattresses in this price bracket. Buy early in the month so the decision is not made under time pressure, and note the return date somewhere you will see it.
One practical warning specific to the Rejuvenate line: these are tall mattresses, 14.5 to 17.5 inches. Standard fitted sheets will not stay on the Premier or Ultimate, and a tall bed frame plus a 17.5-inch mattress puts the sleep surface higher than many people expect.

Customer Reviews
Soft but my back does not hurt
Rheumatoid arthritis. Every soft mattress used to wreck my lower back. The double grid somehow does both. Worth every cent for me personally.
Wonderful bed, brutal price
No complaints about the mattress. I do think the Plus was 85% of this for over a thousand less.
Too soft for my husband
I am 135 lb and love it, he is 245 lb and feels like he sinks. If you are both heavy, look at the firmer Rejuvenate instead.

How We Tested the Purple RejuvenatePremier
Every mattress we review goes through our rigorous, multi-step evaluation process. Here's exactly how we arrived at our scores for the Purple Purple RejuvenatePremier.
Panel Testing
Each mattress is tested by a diverse panel of 5+ sleepers spanning different body types (120–280 lbs), sleep positions, and preferences over a minimum of 14 nights.
Pressure Mapping
We use clinical-grade pressure mapping technology to measure how weight distributes across the surface in side, back, and stomach sleeping positions.
Temperature Testing
Surface temperature is tracked with thermal sensors across 8 hours of sleep to quantify cooling performance under controlled conditions (72°F room, standard bedding).
Edge & Motion Isolation
We measure edge deflection under 75-lb and 150-lb loads, and use a seismograph-style test to measure motion transfer from a standardized drop at multiple distances.
Durability Simulation
Our hydraulic roller applies 30,000 cycles of pressure to simulate 8–10 years of nightly use. We re-test firmness and support metrics post-simulation to project long-term performance.
Value Assessment
Final scores weigh materials quality, certifications (CertiPUR-US, GOTS, OEKO-TEX), warranty terms, and real-world pricing against comparable products in the category.
