Essentia developed a way to give natural latex the slow, contouring response of memory foam, producing what it markets as organic memory foam — no petroleum-based viscoelastic foam involved.
The company manufactures in its own Quebec facility and holds GOLS and GOTS certifications along with third-party VOC testing that it publishes.

Is Essentia really organic memory foam?
The material is natural latex processed to behave like memory foam; it is not viscoelastic polyurethane. The latex and cotton carry GOLS and GOTS certification, and Essentia publishes third-party VOC results for its models.
Why is Essentia so expensive?
Certified organic latex is costly, and Essentia's proprietary pour process is slower than standard latex production. You are paying for a memory-foam feel achieved without petrochemical foam — there is effectively no cheaper way to get that.
Does Essentia sleep hot?
Much cooler than conventional memory foam. Latex is open-celled and moves air, so it does not build the heat pocket that viscoelastic foam creates at contact points.
