Saatva Graphite Memory Foam Topper Overview
Saatva's Graphite Memory Foam Topper uses conductive graphite to blunt memory foam's usual heat build-up while delivering medium-soft pressure relief. It is a strong value against pricier TEMPUR toppers.
Our Hands-On Experience
Graphite is a real conductive additive, not marketing gel dust, and it does what it claims here: after 30 minutes of body contact the surface measured meaningfully cooler than an equivalent uninfused memory foam topper. It does not make the topper cool to the touch all night, but it blunts the heat build-up memory foam is notorious for.
The medium-soft tuning is well judged. It contours at the shoulder and hip without the quicksand feeling of cheaper 4-lb foam, and the organic cotton cover with elastic corner anchors stayed put across our test period.
At $295 it undercuts the Tempur-Pedic option by $100 while sleeping noticeably cooler. The compromise is support: it is a pressure-relief layer, so if your mattress sags in the middle, no topper — this one included — will fix that.
Our Ratings
Our Review
Saatva's graphite-infused memory foam topper solves the main complaint about memory foam — heat. The graphite naturally conducts heat away from the body, and the organic cotton cover adds breathability. At 3 inches with a medium-soft feel, it's ideal for adding plush comfort to a firm mattress.
What We Love
- Graphite infusion genuinely reduces heat retention
- Organic cotton cover is breathable
- 180-night trial — very generous for a topper
- Phase-change cooling technology in cover
- Anti-slip bottom
Room for Improvement
- Softer than some prefer — not for adding firmness
- 1-year warranty is shorter than TEMPUR
- Graphite may leave marks on light sheets
- Still warmer than latex options

Cooler than expected
I'm normally a memory foam skeptic because of heat. The graphite really does help — I sleep noticeably cooler than with my old topper.
How We Tested the Saatva Graphite Memory Foam Topper
Every mattress we review goes through our rigorous, multi-step evaluation process. Here's exactly how we arrived at our scores for the Saatva Saatva Graphite Memory Foam Topper.
Panel Testing
Each mattress is tested by a diverse panel of 5+ sleepers spanning different body types (120–280 lbs), sleep positions, and preferences over a minimum of 14 nights.
Pressure Mapping
We use clinical-grade pressure mapping technology to measure how weight distributes across the surface in side, back, and stomach sleeping positions.
Temperature Testing
Surface temperature is tracked with thermal sensors across 8 hours of sleep to quantify cooling performance under controlled conditions (72°F room, standard bedding).
Edge & Motion Isolation
We measure edge deflection under 75-lb and 150-lb loads, and use a seismograph-style test to measure motion transfer from a standardized drop at multiple distances.
Durability Simulation
Our hydraulic roller applies 30,000 cycles of pressure to simulate 8–10 years of nightly use. We re-test firmness and support metrics post-simulation to project long-term performance.
Value Assessment
Final scores weigh materials quality, certifications (CertiPUR-US, GOTS, OEKO-TEX), warranty terms, and real-world pricing against comparable products in the category.
Editorial independence: Our testing lab operates independently from our affiliate partnerships. Brands cannot pay for higher scores or influence our methodology. Read our full editorial policy and detailed testing methodology.
