    Black Friday 2026 mattress predictions — what to expect from Saatva, Helix, Purple

    Starting this thread early to track expected discount levels for Black Friday/Cyber Monday 2026. I've been buying mattresses on BF for the last 4 years and tracking every brand's discount level. Sharing what I've seen and inviting predictions.

    **Historical Black Friday discount levels (2022–2025):**

    - **Saatva:** $200–$500 off ($400 most common). Never goes lower than this.

    - **Helix:** 25–30% sitewide. Hit 30% in 2023 and 2024.

    - **Purple:** Up to $700 off Premier models. Variable on entry-level.

    - **Tempur-Pedic:** $300–$500 off + free adjustable base on certain models. Best deal of the year.

    - **DreamCloud:** 50% off has been advertised but real net discount is closer to 35%.

    - **Nectar:** $499 off mattress + free bundle (sheets, pillows). Their best deal of the year.

    - **WinkBed:** $300 off across the line. Doesn't move much.

    **My 2026 predictions:**

    - Saatva: $400 off + free bedding bundle (likely)

    - Helix: 30% off (locked-in)

    - Tempur-Pedic: $500 off + free $400 adjustable base

    - Purple: $800 off Premier (they're losing share, will go aggressive)

    Critical PSA: **Saatva's "Black Friday" deal is the same $400 off they run literally every other major holiday.** Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, BF, Christmas — all the same $400. There is no "best" time to buy a Saatva; just buy it during any holiday window.

    Same with WinkBeds. They almost never deviate from $300 off.

    Where BF *does* matter: Tempur-Pedic (their bundle deals are real), Helix (30% is rare elsewhere), and Purple (legitimately steeper BF discounts). Plan accordingly.

    Sales rep at one of the big DTC brands here (won't name which). Confirming a few things:

    1. Most DTC mattress brands plan their BF promo by August. By November, the deal is locked in.

    2. Helix is *definitely* doing 30% off again — no chance they go below their 2024 promo.

    3. Brands monitor each other and match within ~48 hours. So if one major hybrid brand goes to 35%, others will follow.

    4. The "best" deals on DTC are bundle deals (mattress + base + bedding), not the headline percentage.

    Don't pay attention to "today only" countdown timers. They're fake. The deal will be there tomorrow.

    Tracking spreadsheet from 2024 BF for anyone who wants the data:

    - Saatva Classic Queen: $1,895 → $1,495 ($400 off, included free white-glove)

    - Helix Midnight Luxe Queen: $2,373 → $1,661 (30% off)

    - Tempur-ProAdapt Medium Queen: $3,499 → $2,999 ($500 off + free $400 base)

    - Purple RestorePremier Queen: $3,499 → $2,799 ($700 off)

    - DreamCloud Premier Queen: $1,799 → $1,099 (advertised 50%, actual net 39%)

    2026 prediction: discounts hold roughly the same. The mattress industry doesn't have margin to give much more.

    Underrated BF play: **Avocado Green Mattress.** They almost never discount, but their BF deal in 2024 was $400 off + free shipping which made them genuinely competitive with Saatva. If you've been waffling on going organic, BF is the only realistic time to do it.

    Don't forget Costco BF. They had the Tempur-Pedic Cloud Hybrid Queen for $1,299 in 2024 — about 50% off MSRP — and the return policy (full refund any time) makes it the lowest-risk mattress purchase available anywhere.

    Downside: they sell out quickly and you have to physically go to a Costco the day deals drop.

    Buying timing trick: **wait until December 26.** Several DTC brands (Helix, DreamCloud, Nectar) extend or even *deepen* discounts in the dead week between Christmas and New Year's to hit Q4 numbers. I bought a Helix Midnight Luxe on Dec 28 last year for 32% off — better than BF.
