I used my Oura Ring to track sleep quality across different bedroom temperatures over a month. Results:\n\n- 60°F: Fell asleep fast but woke up cold\n- 64°F: Best deep sleep scores consistently\n- 67°F: Best overall sleep score (balance of comfort and deep sleep)\n- 70°F: Noticeable drop in deep sleep\n- 72°F: Worst scores, took longer to fall asleep\n\nThis is obviously just n=1, but it aligns with the research suggesting 65-68°F is optimal. Your findings match mine almost exactly! I did a similar experiment with my Apple Watch and found 65-66°F to be my sweet spot. The difference between 67°F and 72°F was dramatic - like 30 minutes more deep sleep at the cooler temperature.
This is great data but as someone in a tropical climate where AC is expensive, 64°F bedroom is simply not feasible. Any tips for those of us who can't go below 75°F? I use a BedJet but curious about other cooling strategies.
