TMJ sufferers - what pillow finally stopped your jaw pain?

I have been dealing with TMJ for 3 years and my dentist told me my pillow is making it worse. Apparently sleeping on a pillow that pushes your jaw forward or to the side aggravates TMJ. I am a side sleeper which makes it extra tricky. Currently using a standard down pillow that is way too flat. Have tried the Tempur-Pedic TEMPUR-Neck but it was too firm and made things worse. Looking for something that keeps my head/neck aligned without putting pressure on my jaw. Any TMJ warriors found their holy grail pillow?

TMJ sufferer for 5 years. The pillow that finally worked for me is the Coop Eden (the softer version of the Original). The adjustable fill lets you dial in the exact loft so your jaw stays neutral. I removed about 1/3 of the fill and it keeps my head perfectly aligned without any jaw pressure. The key for TMJ is a pillow that supports your neck arch while keeping your head at ear-to-shoulder level - not pushed up or dropped down. Avoid anything too firm or contoured.
My TMJ therapist specifically recommended against contoured/cervical pillows for TMJ patients. She said the rigid shape forces your jaw into a position rather than letting it rest naturally. A soft, adjustable fill pillow is the way to go. I use a buckwheat hull pillow and it has been the best thing for my jaw. You can shape it perfectly around your head and neck.
