    Organic kids mattress - Avocado Eco Kids vs Birch Kids Natural?

    Shopping for my 6 year old twins and want to go organic. No chemical flame retardants, no fiberglass, no off-gassing. Down to the Avocado Eco Organic Kids ($679) and the Birch Kids Natural ($699). The Avocado has more certifications (GOTS, GOLS, OEKO-TEX, EWG, MADE SAFE). The Birch is flippable with a firm side for younger kids and a softer side for 8+. Both are hybrid with coils. Parents who have bought either - how are they holding up?

    We bought the Birch Kids for our 5 year old a year ago and love it. Started on the firm side and it has held up great despite daily jumping sessions. The flippable design sold us - we will flip it to the softer side next year. One thing to check: if you have bunk beds, the Birch is 9 inches tall which might be too high for some safety rails. The Avocado at 7.5 inches is better for bunks.

    We went with the Avocado Eco Kids specifically for the certifications. With twins and one having eczema, the EWG Verified and MADE SAFE certifications gave us extra peace of mind. The mattress is firm but supportive - both kids sleep well on it. Also the twin two-pack discount saves you $20 which is nice for twins!
